First set of notes. Get them here!

Hi Biology Folks!

I am posting the second lecture (1st set of notes) here.  Please note most of my material is taken directly from the Campbell Biology Text (2011 edition) and Khan Academy.  This material is to be used by CBGS Biology Students only.

Since Google Blogger do not do file hosting you will be unable to download these notes in PowerPoint (.pptx) format.  I suggest you try to print them as a pdf, punch holes and add them to the "notes" section of your large 3-ring Biology notebook :)

  1. It turns out that a kilobyte is not simply 1000 bytes or 1024 (2^10).

  2. True William. In this case it's a matter of practically calling something a Kilobyte (which is 1024 bytes) or the Kilo-and-twenty-four-byte. The literal definition would still be 1000. After all a kilogram is not 1024 grams. Interesting discussion point.

  3. Are all dimensional analysis questions we will see be two-part questions like converting meters per second to miles per hour or will there be more complex ones?
